sirius install in 4th gen
sirius install in 4th gen
I just finished installing a sportster 4 in the wife's 98 max SE with BOSE. I used the integraded fm transmitter and it sounds crappy. You can hear static. I did not use the fm extender antenna.
I want to know how others had wired the sirius/xm with the factory BOSE headunit. I had the antenna adapter but the antenna connector of the Bose is different(with two prongs)
thanks

try using the FM extender antenna then. iirc, they're terrible without them. to be honest, FM transmitters suck period.
You can however get a direct FM adapter, Directed makes a good one (local car audio shops should have them), and this breaks open your antenna, works signficantly better.

I have the FM adapter but the 98 BOSE antenna lead is not a usual antenna lead. It has 2 prongs.
I will try to install the FM extender antenna and mount it in the rear.
thanks for the info!
