HD Radio?

I can’t stand my Bose cutting out any longer and the radio stations all suck. Is HD Radio worth a damn? Also, I’m looking at getting a double din w/out nav mainly to hood up the iPod and watch an occasional DVD. I’ve been looking at a few between $400-$600 (Ebay prices). If anyone has some experience with any good ones please let me know. Thanks.

I replaced my Boss HU with JVC KD-HDR1. The sound of HD radio is very clear and good. Once you hear it, you could not go back to regular radio station.

Dual also make some good and cheap HD HU, check ebay.

Cool, thanks. Are there commercials and DJs like regular FM stations or is it more like Sat with just music?

I don't know what the big deal is with HD Radio. Can someone please explain. Is it just a marketing trick. Why get HD radio when you can get XM or Sirius?

For real... That's what I'm trying to figure out. What I do know is that HD Radio is free; you just have to purchase an HD Radio receiver that is compatible with the aftermarket HU. Some car manufacturers are including HD Radio HUs in their new cars. Sat. Radio you have to purchase a subscription along with the receiver and antenna.

You get what you pay for. If you want great entertainment (programming) AND quality sound, you have to pay a little for them.

The sound of HD radio is much, much better than that of Sat radio.
