Oh yea It sounds great! All it needed was a little tweaking on the amps. I hardly ever turn it up more than 12 now on the HU lol. It gets plenty loud and the bass is clean.

Back to the thread now lol

FI FTW!!!

soooooooo with week or so more of ear time with the sub...i'm a bit disappointed with its response. it gets stupid loud off of 1000 watts, loud enough to cause my roof and back window to flex on certain songs. but it's not as quick and detailed as i hoped it was going to be. it's still fairly accurate for most songs, but when i dish out the very fast stuff found in trance/techno, it's a bit sloppy at times. the RLp, brahma, and Hi-Energy subs were still pretty much dead on with everything i threw at it. with more relaxed music, it's nice. very smooth and warm with jazz and classical, and drops wayyyyy low for hip hop and R&B. its not bad either with rock, but like my trance/techno, it gets a little sloppy at times. i got a 1 cube sealed box i'm going to try the sub in and see how it sound. i know output won't be nearly as much, but it will clean up the response a bit.

for the price, it's nice sub with a good amount of SQ with an assload of output.

Interesting. I have had a different experience. I wonder if your box is throwing it off? Is it still in your back seat? Granted I have a pair but have found it to be extremely detailed.

nah, it's in the trunk now.

well my box is at 2.1 @ 30 Hz. Fi recommends somewhere between 1.8 to 2.5 when ported, so my box is somewhere in the middle. i'm pretty sure the sealed box will clean up the response a bit.

yeah, i got the sealed box built awhile back. but i wanted to see how much output this sucker has, and damn...it sure does have a hell of a lot of output when ported.

the RLp, i had it in multiple enclosures...my favorite being 2.0 net sealed (which was also Mike's recommendation. we exhanged a few emails plotting out the response curve of the RLp in various box setups) the sub was very punchy, but still got down pretty low. it was also in a 2.5 ported @ 30 hz, and 3.7 @ 37 hz. the 3.7 @ 37 was just nuts. output was insane! IMO, if you want to give up some trunk room, go 3.5 @ 28hz. if you want even more crispness, go sealed at 2.0 net.

Good to hear you moved it. You got the standard Q with no BP option correct? I know the box is in spec too. Just trying to figure out why you are experiencing what you noted. Only thing I can think of is the other subs you listed are actually so extremely accuarate. Which could very well be the case.

Just about everything. Rap, rock and techno mostly. In the center console I have Kenny Chesney, T-pain, BT, Diesel Boy, Dave mathews, Pink Floyd, Jodeci, DefTones, and who knows how many mixed genre cd-r's. I swap out the originals frequently to keep it interesting. I have 375 actual cd's and 400 or so burned that run the spectrum.

Ha. The majority of those are over 5 years old. I have bought maybe 10 in the past 2 years. Lots of older stuff like that.
