Amplifier Ground Point

Where are you guys grounding your amps.
Trying to decide which is the best place.
Any Ideas and suggestions.
i used to have ti run to a bolt i put through the trunk right behind the driver taillight. but it took way to much effort.
I want something closer to the back seat.

you have to sand the paint off the seat belt bolt + sand down the area where the bolt goes.

I used the seat belt bolt also and I have had no issues. I used one of the bolts for the center belt.

Seats belt bolts are generally covered in locktite, so not the best option, but not the worst. 50/50 odds with it not having any problems.

I've got a small amp going under the passenger seat. Is there any problem grounding it and the headunit to the BCM ground under the center console? I figure it's got to be a decent ground already; I just don't want to risk messing up the BCM somehow.

I grounded mine to the Seat itself. There are 4 bolts that bolt the seat down to the chassis and I used that, just sand it down and wala wala bing bang

I've got mine in the trunk, so I grounded it to a strut mount bolt. Kinda a pain to get back there, but it works nicely.

Is the braided ground strap to the vehicle chassis necessary when upgrading your system? or Is just the short ground wire enough from the neg of the battery to the chassis? I know it says to use both but Im just curious to what others are doing.

I grounded mine to one of the bolts on the front seats as my amps are under there. Just made sure that I did a good job sanding down the contact points......guess I am still a noob

That fat raptor wire is really 4 awg didn't have any connecters to fit the bolt on the ground, that was the only alternative at the time
