Where to buy door speaker trim rings?

As I don't have access to tools/saws to cut rings for myself, where would be a good place to get trim rings for my 4th gen 6.5" door speakers? Or could I paypal someone here for some?

Maybe they are called spacer rings?

ATTENTION: NEWBIE ALERT.........
What does one need those for? There is a plastic peice that is attached to the door and is a spacer on my 4th gen with blose. Is that not good enough?

Plastic can resonate and color the sound of the midwoofer, which is why people go with something like MDF, which is much more "dead"

plus they're easy to make. just cut out a ring out of MDF. mount speaker to ring. mount ring to door.

How much for me to get 2 sets mang? 6.5"'s needed to do my 4 doors, and I don't have my router since I lent it out. Would be nice to just get some that were made for me.

I found a buddy with tools and ended up making them myself. I was surprised how thick I had to make them. I used 2 layers of 3/4" MDF and 1 layer of 1/4" MDF at the bottom for the 4 screw points to the door. (cut little "ears" with space for the screw holes)

I should have asked if I would need more than one set for the front doors for this project? Sound like the answer is yes, but I will wait for cant_get_ryte to respond. What size did you cut these from like 3/4 or 1/2 I should have asked in the orginal post.

cut from 3/4

Both Decked and JS are shipped.

If you need more than a set let me know. i always have stuff sitting around and its no issue. I use birch due to the weight diff to mdf, but I ALWAYS got extra lol. always.

as well in my fourth gen i used two 3/4 inch. was overkill, depends on the mids you run. I didnt really need em, just with how shallow the germaniums were i could get a good amount of acoustic foam behind em With two of the rings instead of one. Shrug..im a weird dude

I'm going with the polk audio db6501 component set for the mids. You think I will need more than one set cut from 3/4 inch?

I'd be interested in a set of MDF speaker rings too. I have the same 6.5" Polk Audio components as JSMax (thanks to his tip), so just a pair of the 3/4". Care to make another set? If so I'll PayPal ya.

BTW, you mentioned birch? By that do you mean the wood?

yeah baltic birch. same strength as mdf, but when you make a complete box its way lighter. WAY lighter. specially when you get to double baffling stuff etc.

i can knock out a set if you want today. im picking up my bench and weights in a bit, but ill be in the garage for the rest of the day.
