Hey, I was thinking about getting a single Zapco 100watt 200watt bridged amp for a single W3. But im not sure of the quailty of the amp, or the W3, so im going to ask you guys.

 

Zapco and Brax are the best amps made plain and simple...don't questino the quality there quality is second to none.

 

Except Tube Driver, Arc,and Genesis amps
Zapcos are wonderful.

 

Tube driver is great, Arc is great and on the way up, genesis is good, but none of them are as good as zapco.

 

for competition, i heard PPI is awesome...my friend has a PPI amp hooked up to 3-10" JLW3 and sounds crazy, the amp retails for about $550

Sorry but as much as I love Zapcos, they wish they were as good as Genesis and especially the Tube Driver. Not knocking Zapco at all, but after hearing them all, I will continue to buy Tube Drivers.

 

Maxedout2g: PPi used to be so great, now there just so so. Good but not up to the high level standards of the highend level equipment.

Whitemax: I give tubedriver alot of creadit, great amps but there not as good as zapco. Even Scott Buwalda say's zapco is much better than tube driver. But you are intitled to your opinion,and i will respect that.

 

I'm not saying that Tube Driver is better than Zapco, but I'm also saying that Zapco isnt better than the other brands I mentioned either. It is all realative to the rest of the system. each brand has its strengths and weaknessess, and that needs to be taken into consideration when choosing ANY component. What might be considered at strong aspect of a brand may become a weakness when paired with the wrong partner.It's impossible to say that one brand is better than all others because its too gray an area to pinpoint.For example if an amp is considered bright, and its paired with a speaker thats bright, then everything sounds like crap, even if on their own their great.

 

Me like Zapco amps a lot.,.,.,

 

There is no point in argueing back and forth. We can both agree that t.d and zapco are fabulus equipment. It's my opinion that zapco is better. But both have no noise probs both have great speaker control and both are just great. We can agree on that. It does come down to matching things without a doubt. But With everything else being the same and the only diff being the amp i'll take zapco all the time, exepct a personal built amp for the vehicle (ie. M.E. Kicker stuff)
