No power to H/U

hi guys, today i installed a Pioneer DEH-1900MP, and it won't power on. I installed the ground to the stock harness ground (12V-) instead of to bare metal on the car.

Shouldn't it still power on? I checked all the wiring, & it matches up. What else could it be besides the ground?

thx

what year is your Max... 3rd 4th and my 5th gen dont have ground at the radio harness thats why you ground it to the chassis... try it see if it helps...

yes, i've checked the fuses. I remember doing the same install in a 4th Gen, & I used the ground in the factory harness. It worked fine.

Hey, you guys were right! It was the 15A "Audio" fuse under the hood. I thought it would have been a fuse under the steering wheel. I guess the fuse popped when the thieves got my last H/U. Thx again for the advice. Oh yeah, the ground in the factory harness works fine.

The ground in the factory harness is not actually working fine. Your grounding through either the chassis or the antenna (floating). I would suggest re grounding directly to the chassis rather than the harness.
