5th gen Bose sub question

i tried doing a quick search but didnt find anything.

will the stock bose system work without the sub hooked up? i am trading in my car and need to put back the stock system. i think i sold the sub years ago, but have everything else.

just dont want to waste my time if it will end up not working.

It should. When I had my aftermarket subs hooked up to the stock bose unit in my 03 I unplugged the speaker wires to the Bose sub. I'm not sure if it'll work if you removed all the internal amps, etc.
