No bypass, just an integrated harness. Metra P/N: 70-7551 or make your own.

Crutchfield just to keep the warranty legit. I am getting CC to install it since they are a certified installer. I would have bought it from CC but they dont carry that high end model.

The wire is going to be coming out of the avn6620 on one of the harnesses. You'll see it.

oooh that simple... I was thinking the wire was somewhere around the ebrake hanlde. So the ground signal wire on the hu got ya. So all I have to do is put that wire to any metal surface behind the hu correct? thanks for clearing that up.

So an update. After hooking up my ipod touch to Dons personal AVN6620 and seeing my playlists on the screen as I hoped I would, I was immediately sold. The only thing I don't like about the h.u. is the cheesy back round display choices. Don said something about being able to get different ones but wasn't sure how. Anyone know how to get custom ones? Im also going to get the Eclipse cd changer eventually. This way if I forget my Ipod at home at least I can still listen to custom CD with out having to switch the front CD all the time. Just my thoughts. Thanks for all the info fellas.

Eclipse biggest weakness to me was always its options of wallpapers. Thats probably the only area that pioneer and other brands have an advantedge. Believe it or not, Eclipse has improved on their wallpapers. My 5435 has weak looking options compared to the 6620. But I change my wallpaper every season at most. Keep pushing out that great 5V pre out quality and you'll keep a smile on my face

Mmmm, I always wanted a cd changer until I used mp3...just copy the songs into the ipod .

You mean to tell me that they have improved the wall paper? I would hate to see what the old ones looked like. Well as with anything else Im sure it will improve with future models ie, play ipod videos, tons of personalized wall paper, and being able to change the color of the leds in face like the avic f series. When they do I'll just sell and upgrade Yes I can definitely copy the songs to my Ipod, but I was speaking in terms of If were to forget my Ipod at home and I know myself that I would. IMO its always cool to have the option of a six disc changer, not that its needed but its a great option.

Got mine installed. Is there a way to play DVDs through the main display, and not a secondary screen?

If im not mistaken, you must ground the parking brake signal wire on the back of the h.u. I have yet to install mine so I can't give further detail. Im sure others may fill you in a little more.

yeah there are two sets of blue wires, one is remote and one is antenna up/down. Is this what you're asking? If yours doens't go up and down when you switch to AM/FM you didn't hook up that wire correctly.

Antenna

You guys know if there is a way to have the antenna only power extend when I am listening to the FM/AM radio? I don't like the fact that if Im using a CD, Ipod, or even watching a movie that the antenna is always extended. When I had my Bose radio the Antenna would extend only when listening to FM/AM radio.

Any 4th gen guys with Avn any thoughts? You 5th gen guys ... Does your Avn sit flush with the dash? Mine sticks out about a 1/4" and I would to have it sit flush. I guess there has to be a way to modify the stock bracket to make it sit flush. anyone?

I was thinking of cutting the bracket and push it back till the hu is flush and drill new holes into the bracket and nut and bolt it in place. I think this should work. Ill post some pics of before and after when I get to it.

I had this issue with my old Q45. One of the guys at the shop just put a switch under my dash that i could turn on and off when i wanted. From what he told me it was pretty simple he cut the antenna power wire and just put the switch in between. Worked Flawless. Not sure if it works the same with a newer max.

that seems like it would work. I have to what kind of connection it is at the headunit. From there I could just break the wire and go through a switch. Thanks for the idea I have to look into it and confirm now. Hmmmmm another project to do.
