Did you connect the right wire to the power antenna lead? Blue is power ant and Blue/White is remote turn on. I know the latter of the two is right, can you confirm the first?

I didn't connect anything my friend. I think parag made the connections at the headunit. but when I get to it ill confirm. I was looking on shaving the anntenna all together and adding an aftermarket. maybe something similar to the audi anntenna or the bmw. I was going to ask your opinion because on a aftermarket anntenna. I hear you lose the am reception (which I listen to occasionally ) when shaving and removing the stock anntenna .

I thought you put in the AVN yourself the night you took it home?

aahhh memory refreshener. yeah I did.. parag hooked up the wires for the spd sensor and backup camera. So I don't want the anntenna to power on unless I am using FM or AM. so I guess adding a switch is my only option? or removing the stock antenna all together and adding a roof mount which I hear will have bad reception for AM.

No, how would that be your only option? Connect the power antenna wire from the HU to the power antenna lead on the car.

I thought it was like that now. evertime the headunit is powered...the antenna extends. this is what I don't want.

And THAT would be using the remote out and Not the power antenna lead.

so if I use the remote antenna lead (this on the headunit?) then the antenna would only extend when I turn on FM AM?

damn I wish I knew that first time. I remember asking Parag about it and he didn't have much to say about it. So power antenna wire makes the antenna power any time the headunit is on... and remote wire only when I turn on FM AM correct? maybe it wasn't parag I asked.... it was someone on the Org and they said that's the way it worked . So great ... I do this switch of the wires and problem solved I hope. So now I can leave my antenna alone.

Umm negative. Power antenna wire is for the antenna Only. Remote turn on is for the amps and remains on always while any source is played.

Now im all confused . How is the antenna supposed to function with the AVN? I know with the Bose headunit it would only power when I turne on FM or AM radio. So your saying I may have the antenna wired to the remote power lead which supplies constant power to the amps providing the audio is on?

Problem with AVN 6620 and 03 Maxima.
Does anyone have a problem with the Nav moving on it's own? The speed sensor is saying I'm moving even though I'm in park. Will resetting the ECU fix the problem? I've tried to reset the ECU following directions from the other forums, but I guess my timing is way off. Is turning key on then pressing accelerator, etc... the only way to reset the ecu? Need help thanks.
