Lanzar Amps

What are your thoughts on these amps, I was looking at a monoblock amp but the connections for the power grnd etc look small and flimsy , it does not look like they would put out the power they specify, my punch amps are so much more beefier.

Here is a link to the amp iam reffering to.

I wouldn't go as far as calling Lanzar crap, especially when you get to the old school models

The older Opti amps would do rated power, decntly solid. I have zero experience with their new lines. I have moved on.

Designing an amplifier is not rocket science. The premium one pays for quality brands is, well, QUALITY. And piece of mind that they will do rated power.

Other than that, sonic differences are either coloration or poor design. Lanzar isn't a QUALITY brand, but I am confident that they compare very well to other budget oriented brands, such as profile. This is strictly from my experience with them and not just the older, ZED built models either...

i had an "800 Watt" Vibe that was nowhere near the quality of my 400 Watt MTX, running the same speakers, the MTX was much louder and cleaner

So your basing your opinion on the lowest line they sold? Have you EVER used the Opti amps? It doesn't sound like it. I am not saying you are not entitled to your opinion, I just hate to see hasty generalizations based on no actual experience. Your vague example of different amplifiers leads me to believe you don't know the actual power output of either amp past what the manual says it did under controlled circumstances. I am glad you were happier with the MTX amps, of which I have had good luck with overall, but that doesn't give you ammunition to discount the performance of an amp you have never used and base your opinion on another product made by the same company. Then you throw in your controlled method of "testing" 2 different amplifiers of some varying level of performance that cannot be varified. I honestly DGAF what you think. I do have an issue with misleading others without good reason or proof.

And still draws only 30 amps of current. You might see 250 watts RMS out of that amp if lightning strikes it.

Did you learn anything from this thread so far? If not, check the Pyle thread at the bottom of the page.

Some more information would help, i.e. what subs you are running, what the rest of your system consists of, etc. Its not impossible to find a decent amp for $300 but without any background information it is.

Ok here is my breakdown, Panasonic Head unit, Audiobahn 6½'s all the way around, 2 Fosgate Punch Stage 2 12 inch subs, 2 smaller tweeters mounted in the doors, The headunit powers the door speakers, the sub amp i have now is a Fosgate Punch P5002 wich does not handle 2 ohms bridged. Headunit has built in high and low pass filters so i dont need a external crossover, 4 gauge power and ground wire 1 Farad cap. i want to run my subs in a 2 ohm bridged mode because when i do with the current amp they slam so much harder and louder but then i pop fuses in the amp. thats why iam looking for a amp that can do 2ohms stable bridged.
