Speakers Dried Out?
well, today i was browseing the local junk yard when i found a freshly totalled 4th gen R.I.P. i thought it was dumb that the insurance company totalled the vehicle as she only had around 400$ in damages; but then again i have no idea how many miles she had on her... was a 99 and i went ahead and pulled a Bose Speaker from the rear out of it. I got it out the door for around 30$. yes i know i probably could have done alot better but the way i figure it by the time i had it shipped here from a memeber of the org selling theirs off it would be almost that price anyways so i went ahead and bought it anyways.
i talked to the guy in the front office and he said the speaker was tested and all, and that it was warenteed for 30 days. well ive yet to hook it up myself as it is well.. a bit dried out??? the rim of the speaker is cracking and almost dry rotted id say. it does however seem to be plyable and will move without breaking. now my question to you. any ideas on how to soften up the material on the outter rim?? an idea, no clue if it will work that crossed my mind. Eucerin hand lotion mabey?? any suggestions guys??
