Although the price of speakers may change a little, the price of listening will not. I say you invest in the right area
.

Another dynaudio install? I dont feel so special anymore lol.Congrats nismo, yea i agree, some songs, I think the kick panel speakers can endure more but I get worried about midbass, definitely being patient and letting them properly break in, although i have seen the speakers slowly handle songs better and better.
4 am?! No way family man Don would stay up that late to work on a car, although I see you were so excited you posted at that time.
If you dont mind me asking, what frequency you going to set your amp at? Because I'm currently running with no subs, I have mine at full capacity (35hz HP) although I believe speakers can handle as low as 40 Hz (SICK for front end speakers). When they break in a little more, I think I'll throw it up to maybe 60-80 hz and let the sub do some work, or might even let it sit like this...
Didnt mean to rub it in maxprivate, your time is coming soon and it will be all worth it.

Look at the sexy work Done by the Don Dyn himself and much thanks to nismo these guys poured out their valuable time in the wee hours of the night
I must say im afraid of the potential these things have with the volume only at about 40 it blows my Blose system out the window. Simply amazing and crispy tasty sound . Break in period sucks though and now I also find my self going out for a listen here and their. I will definitely be adding on a Sub in the near future to finish it off.
Its already ready and wanting dyn's. 8" midbass, 2 1/2" midranges, and tweet all in each front door.

Dynaudio wasn't an option. It just their premium sound.
I'll get them soon.
Yes i'm cheap. I'm chinese. I'm entitled to being cheap.

If my gas prices weren't 4.89 a gallon, I'd be in dynaudios already.
Sorry Mecca we are not special anymore unless you invest in a set of Esotars. well look who it is.. whos that guy

J/k but that 8" mid looks amazing. And that 7" screen looking right too. I miss black interior. Yea man, once you hit around 15 hours, you should see a strong difference in how loud they get. I'm probably in mid 20's and counting. Thank god I have a red optima, my system will be running with car off on my days off to increase break in time. Sucks because all I think about is breaking in.So when you going to let me borrow that 6620?
Well look at you! Congratulations man, glad you got them put in. You have more deadening on your door than me!

Thanks, I thought you were getting an Avn. Its definitely hot man.. now the navy is working (relocated the antenna) I love this hu like I said before the only thing I don't like about it is wall paper and no ability to customize. Thats all I can really say thats bad about it for the least. I pod connection is sick Its really a treat for me to have this set up and my first.. and also my last in the 4th gen that is.
Sorry man cant let this hu go so soon .

Sorry man cant let this hu go so soon .Hit me up on AIM anytime, maybe we can discuss settings and such. Extra kudos to Pearl96max for recommending this stuff, definitely put a smile on my face.
yea my avn should be sooner or later. Glad you are happy with the setup. Like I said way back in the day, SQ and features of AVN's are ridiculously high, only weakness is the wallpapers which I must add have been improved from my 4 year old unit. I'm sure this will be the last setup you will ever do in this car and I'm a little jealous because in the long run you are saving. I swapped so many head units, so many amps, so many speakers, I lost a lot of money over the years.

And dont feel bad about switching systems so many times. I have had 2 sets of wood dash kits and Im swaping again. I have thrown money In the garbage doing tail light and headlight mods melting them in the oven. I have 2 sets of rims 18 ( 18 FOR SALE NEEPER HAZZ WITH TIRES) and now 19 2 sets of suspensions blew one of my konis cause of a bad install. And the list goes on. So I feel you in that department.
I dont know if its me or what but on lower volumes, system seems louder than before...I just tested a few songs from Nas new album, magnifete! (sp?)
As much bass as these speakers have, they only cover as low as 40 Hz (which is awesome for front end speakers)...so I guess an extra sub would be needed to get the full spectrum...hmmm

as far as I know, there were no spacers installed although slight edging of the stock hole to fully fit the speaker. Also, MDF wood used to extend the speaker out a little? I watched Don do it twice and I still dont know what was really done, i just know it was done well.

yeah I think its to clear the glass but to be certain ask the man himself. No cutting of my stock holes where needed speaker fit right in that is with the spacers. So you have your gains set at 40hz ? mine I believe is set at 50hz , so If I were to lower it to 40 hz that would increase the power to the speakers? The sound deadening is amazing If Im outside the car with the doors closed no vibration and I can hardly hear the system at 38 volume incredible. I have to do my back doors now and I will be adding a Sub.

I was doing some research at work today and seen how my 5 channel kicker has Hz as low as I think 50? where a Tru S500 has Hz as low as 35. So you get deeper bass from this type of amp (i'm assuming). I'm curious to know what mono amps produce the lowest Hz.
If anyone can shed some light on this topic, it would be great, or maybe I should just make a new thread....
I actually have my amp set at 35 Hz, all the way down but the speakers handle 40 Hz +. I dont think its more of an increase of power, more or less a newer, deeper, lower hz sound that will come from the speaker. Normally, any sound in the ranges of > 90 Hz would come from the sub. This is why we get so much bass up front because our mids are taking in those deep sounds the subs normally handle. The lower the Hz, the deeper the sound and I guess the more bass you hear/feel. I dont know if there are songs with Hz lower than 35 but thats what subs are for I guess.
You're high pass should be at around 40 - 45 hz, preferably 50 once you have a sub.
The speaker plays from 40 up, that means 35-40 is inaudible and can cause damage to your woofer. NORMALLY BASS below 50 hz (in a setup with dyn's) would be sent to the subwoofer.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but Gordon knows his stuff (to an extent
) and what you said is completely wrong. We could explain it to you a bit better if you like.
UH... WHAT?!

The crossover points have no relevance of how the amp 'sounds'. It is just a setting.Doesnt make one amp better than the other, just possibly more flexible.
Dont you have a phone call to make?

Those should ALWAYS be off. That you can play around with, you most likely would also want 50hz lpf on the sub. But you may find that bumping the sub to 80hz lpf and the midbass to 80hz hpf may work a lil better for you if you want a lil more bottom end.
What does lpf mean? So raising the hz actually gives you deeper bass then? or is less hz gives you more bass?
