Sound dampening question...

Sound dampening question...

Does anyone know of any sound dampening material that won't cost me an arm and a leg like dyna mat. What are the pros and cons? Can i get bad sound damp. material? any help appreciated

i used great stuff foundation foam, (available at homedepot for about $4 a can. it expands after you put it on, so it fills up the air air space. I have used it on a few cars with decent results especially considering it costs less than $20 to do an entire trunk. Just be careful around the lock.

go to mcmelectronics.com they have an off brand pad that works pretty well. ( it's not as good as dynamat but application is more important than actual brand. "Remember a carpenter can do more with a chisel than you can with a saw"

www.b-quiet.com is an off brand, also there is "vibration damper" sheets sold at Mcmaster.com the Hi-Temp Mastic and the Viscoelastic ones are those recommended for car audio applications....
