Alternator Ampere Output, '03

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am about to replace the stock bose system in an '03 and was looking for the stock alternator's amp. output. I'm looking to put a 1000watt combined system ((Alpine PDX-1.600 and PDX-4.100 with type R-comp/coax./and 12"sub)), average amp. draw should be around 26amp, max. power draw around 78amp. i'm trying to stay away from a bigger alternator or putting in a capacitor. some ppl. are saying increase the size of the ground wire to the neg. post of the battery. anyone have experience with this?? also would a normal wet-cell battery be able to hold up to a system like this, or is an opti. high-performance battery needed? if a capacitor is needed, any advice on size / brand?
