Amp problem

ok today i bumpin my subs really loud for about 6 to 10min then i turn off my car then do other stuff for about 6 or 7 hours then went back in car start it up and i notice on my bass *** the red light wasnt on an i thought it was odd so i put on a cd to listen to and notice i wasnt getting any bass so my amp was off so im thinkin in blow my amp but that was impossible ive never turn it to the max till today and it was for 15min so im thinking maybe i blew the fuse on the amp idk what i should do i was thinkin of goin back to the place that installed it but there lame they were gonna charge me just cause i didnt know how to turn up the eq on the amp i was like nah so can someone PLEASE HELP ME

Look on your amp for the fuse or fuses. When you find it/them, pull them out and look at them. If they are blown you will know. What amp do you have?

like ice said, check fuses, if not that, could be the remote wire.

or anyother loose wire for that matter..?

It can't be the romote wire as the red or protection light was lit on the bass ****. Fuses would be my first guess. If your amp is equipped with multiple fuses and one blows or several blow, it can trigger a protection. Start there and report back, I have a few other ideas if that isn't the case. Unfortunately for you, none of them are good.

yeah more then likely the fuse on my amp blew out bout to go pick some up tomarrow

I hope everything works out for ya!! If your speakers can take more than your amp can give will the amp run so hot that it could blow out a fuse? Does anyone know?

True. So when the amp goes into protection mode, do you just have to wait til it cools off enough to turn back on?

thats what i have been having to do for my jbl 4 channel lately...i turned up the input gain on both front and rear speakers, and after loud playing for like 15 or so min, it will go minto protection, try to touch the amp, and it almost burns your fingers, have to wait for it to cool off for like 5 minutes...getting on my nerves...but anywhoo, i wanna know if fuses were pimpcodes problem...


and to filtor, no i havent posted my system in the stickie yet..will get on it though..been slippin my mind

its probly a speaker wire or somethin loose that is rubbing against metal or another wire
