Carpet padding (ATTN: Anton)

I checked out Home Depot this afternoon and found carpet padding gallore. They had them in different colors and weight. I would assume that the heavier it is, the better the sound dampening? What weight did you use? I only saw 3 and 6 lbs. Also, they were all foam with some string wiring in it. But there was another one that looked like fused fiber. Is that one better? What type of carpet padding did you use? Thanks.

Regards,
Mike H.

well...assuming you already looked at my homepage and read everythinng you'd know that I bought my carpet padding from www.jcwhitney.com. I would use the thickest, heaviest stuff that you can possibly fit.

Install between the vinyl covered door panel and teh steel door. Use as a damper, gasket, and isolation pad. Also install under carpeting and over headliner.
