need your opinion on this system...is it worth it?

this guy at my job is willing to sell me all this for $150
(2) JL 12w3 ...not the new ones the older ones with the JL Logo in the middle
(1) Phoenix Gold zx600 amplifier
(1) Mtx audio 152t amplifier
(2) Lighting Audio Caps

the subs will come in a leather wrapped box built for a pathfinder so I will have to get a new box made and hopefully I can sell that one.

My question is, are these lower line JL subs any good? I only really want the subs, capacitors and one of the amps...the second amp and box i would like to sell to get some of my money back.

What do you guys think of this? will these subs and one of the amps be a good combo?

Thanks!

That is a damn good price for that equipment. Do the JLs have the concave cone or the "bubble" cone? The concave cones are the V2s and the bubble cones are the V1s. The V1s sound damn good but the V2s have more output...

That amp alone can ****** a good amount on ebay. Its a very well made, quality amp.

For that money get it. Those subs aren't great (less excursion than the 10w3) but for that price... do it

For that price, why not. Though those caps are useless to you.

Good point. Go sell the cap on ebay and pocket the cash.

disagree on the newer W3s having more output. Ive installed plenty of the V2s and V3s, and I'd honestly rather have the originals. Dual voice coil on the older vs single on the newer ones as well.

but OP, decent deal for 150 if all is working.. you could probably sell one of those amps and make most of your money back.

They're a band-aid and are not necessary for simple systems.

Good deal. In fact you can make all your money back immediately if you bring me that ZX600.
