Id take a look at this one here.

http://audiopulse.com/products/subwoofer-drivers/epic

works great in a .5 ft3 box cut the weight with the mdf not necessarily the driver.

2 12" in a 1 ft3 total enclosure. reverse mount as well for an even smaller box lose more weight by not including sub displacement in dimensions.

Or do Like I am planning
eliminate the box altogether and go 2 12" IB thru the skipass.

or 2 15"

write up review and pics of IB in Maxima

he said he wanted to keep the weight down. that 8" is 18lbs damn! although those are some great subs it doesnt seem to fit his situation.

to op- so out of those that you put up as choices.........although everyone on this site hates JL i dont. and that w3 looks like the best choice of those subs. and stay away from that hifonics crap..straight flea market stuff. ask djfrestyle for some thoughts. GL

Going against the grain here but I enjoyed my 10w3. The 10" has more excursion (slightly) then the 12". Something to consider if weight is an issue. Build the enclosure on the small side and stuff with some polyfill. Good to go. If you need a light amp check out a class D. I have an Alpine I like. You'll probably need something with 300 watts rms.

May be too late but is 12 pounds light enough? 600 RMS .65 ft3 box optimal
