Factory Bose Sub wires to an aftermarket amp..

I have a 5th gen with Bose and my Bose sub blew out on me. I was wondering, if I could take those wires and put them into the speaker input on an aftermarket amp and use that signal to use an aftermarket amp. I can't remember what the ohms are for the Bose but I thought they were .5ohms? I was wondering if anyone has done this before because I didn't know if the different ohms would conflict and ruin the aftermarket amp or the Bose amp?

Thanks

Please read the stickies, all the info you need is there.

Best way to do it would be to tap a pair of RCA's off:
1. Your Bose HU output OR
2. The line level wires before the Bose sub amp

Then run the new RCA's to the input on your new amp.

Links are dead in the stickies or incorrect. If I tap into the subwoofer speaker wires before the Bose amp, could I just put them into the speaker input terminals on my amp? Or would I need to wire them to RCA ends and plug into the RCA ports?

Before the amp = line level 'preout' signals = tap in RCA's and connect to RCA plugs on amp
Subwoofer wires = amplified signals = tap in speaker wires and wire into high level inputs on amp.

The difference in OHM's wouldn't affect putting the sub wires into the high level inputs (on the amp)? I'm just worried about ruining things like the Bose Amp, not so much the aftermarket one.

You're tapping wires OFF of the Bose sub, not into the Bose sub. So you can't possibly mess up your Bose amp.

Just to clarify, if I take into the cord that plugs into the subwoofer from the amp, I would use high level input correct? And if I were to tap into the wires that are coming from the HU to the Bose amp I would have to attach RCA ends and plug it into the RCA ports on the amp. Sorry for the retarded questions but I'm just paranoid.

You're correct. Think about it...
After the Bose amp, before the Bose sub = amplified signal = high level input.
After the Bose HU, before the Bose amp = 'line level' or 'preout' = splice in some RCA's and wire to RCA input.

Also, I have a stock Bose amp for a 5th generation if you need it. I'll sell it to you for $25 bucks.
