Anybody Know about Cerwin-Vega or PowerBass
I recently had my nissan broken into and they jacked 2 really solid MTX amplifiers a Thunder 421D and a Thunder 564 as well as my SoundSplinter Rl-i 10" in a very well made sealed box. This makes me very angry. I need to get some bass back in my car.
My budget is limited and I am looking into some secondhand gear. I was wondering if some of the audio gurus that helped me choose my first system could help me decide on a few of these lesser-quality, used amps and subs.
First on the list. A setup consisting of 2 10" Cerwin Vega 104's and an MTX Thunder 152 Amp I can pickup for $100. Here are some pics of the guys setup:

Thanks guys. Do you think the Box they are in is a good setup for SQ? I mean I hear that those subzero boxes can be great but only if the subs inside are properly sized for the enclosure. Any information on this would be great.
I have also come across another offer. One P3 12" Rockford Fosgate without a box with a 500+ watt Alpine amp for the same $100. Would you guys go for the Vegas in the box or the P3. I am all about the SQ not the noise.

Thanks guys for the advice. I picked the Vegas and the MTX amp up today. They look nice in this box. Now I just have to work on some anti theft mechanism since the locks on these older Nissans (90 stanza) are a complete joke. I'm thinking just bolting everything down to frame/floor and then grinding the edges off the bolts and nuts. I mean it's not impossible to get around this but no thief is going to bring power cutting tools with them, right?

Not sure yet, I am planning on hooking them up this afternoon for a test and then locking them back up in my apt until I have time to bolt everything down. I hear those vega strokers are really nice but the reason I went this route is because it was a package deal for pretty cheap. Besides though I have found I personally much prefer 10" subs to 12" and 15" subs. I am going to keep them in this bandpass box as long as it doesn't sound ridiculous for now until I have time to built a decent sealed enclosure.

Well I ran 3 sets of RCA from deck to trunk and need to run power wire today and we will be set to hook up the vegas at about 110 watts a piece. After that I am going to cut speaker baffles for the component and coax speakers. Hopefully it will sound pretty dank. Haha.
