most guys are guna tell u a cap is a bandaid wich is true but it does do its job and it should greatly reduce or stop the dimming.another good way is to do the big 3 wire mod. i just was reffered this buy someone on here i havent done it on my car but i have done it on someone elses.heres a link for instructions http://www.isyougeekedup.com/the-big...iring-upgrade/. in there system it completely eliminated all the dimming and the amp seems runs better from what he said. im sure more guys will will tell u other things but from my experience both the cap and the big 3 mod work just fine

i talked to a long radio employee he said upgrading the wiring like the big 3 mod and adding a cap is what he would reccomend and they do it on almost every install. he said yes theres alot of people bashing on caps but they DO work and upgrading your alternator is really only needed if u are pushing ALOT of power. upgrading the battery is another good way to help the dimming.

screw the cap, do the big 3.

also, make sure you ground the amp to the chassis, and that the grounding point is free of paint/dirt/grime.

has anyone done the big 3 mod....does it harm the car...i know that it allows more current to flow faster from the battery, alt, ground....but if its better why didnt nissan do it in the first place.

I didnt do the big 3 but i have a cap and it works...u cd also try lower the amp a tad bit hehe

^^^ it doesnt hurt anything it only helps, ive done a few big 3 mods its a huge improvement, the stock wiring is fine for powering the car and all the stock equipment u only need to do the big 3 when u add an aftermarket system to improve the grounds and power supply for the extra strain on the cars electrical system

Caps are junk, I learned the hard way. I upgraded my wiring and haven't had any problems.

Upgrading the alternator is the best solution. Check out excessiveamperage.com Nathan Peddicord is the guy to talk to. I got a H/O alternator for $300
