Tweeter Help Whats's What/Differences

Hello Org members, so long story short, I picked up some sweet pillars from KC(thank you) with tweeter cutouts. Now I am in the market for tweeters. The cutout are approximately 1.75". I know some other member posted about tweeters but that thread went horribly wrong with hurt feelings and nothing ever got resolved. I did a some research to find tweeters and I see there are Paper cones, Silk, Aluminum and Neo-somthing or other, etc. So her are my questions. I know answers will be subjective to user but i listen to all kinds of music from Rap to rock to salsa to jazz, i have a varied taste.
1. Whats the differences between them
2. what are the benefits to either
3. Is there another question i should be asking

I really dont care about brand, or should i? I did see some sweet tweeters from Nismo14 that he had for sale awhile back a pair of nice looking Rainbow's but i dont remember what kind of cone it was but they look super cool. Please help share your expertise wiht me. Thanks in advance

i myself custom frabircated some tweeter housings where the mirrors bolt's are on my 3rd gen. i got ahold of 4 pioneer tweeters and added them to my bose (2 for the front and two for the back of course).

it, imo, made a a noticeable difference in sound.

but what most peopleup here do is buy those tweeters (think they're 1 inch) for $1.
those things have alot AND I DO MEAN ALOT of treble.
you could get a pack of those and put em' behind the pillar. or get the oem clarion tweeters?

Ascendant, i have no clue buddy, i was looking at tweeters that come wiht crossovers, but if you remember i do have the ID ctx's in the front, i was thinking of disconnecting those tweets and use the crossover for the new tweets but IDK. My plans are very open.

What do you have in mind?

It doesn't matter what materials the tweeters are if your ears don't like them. Go to a reputable shop and start auditioning tweeters. Typically silk tweeters produce a softer sound over aluminum which tend to be more sharp. I prefer silks because they are easier on my ears for extended listening.

Currently, I have polk audio sr speakers in my car which are ring radiator tweeters and I think they're great.

yeah, generally silk domes are a bit softer, metal and other textile domes are a bit more sharper. however, there ARE exceptions to these general characteristics.

i prefer a nice soft silk dome, but it's really a personal preference.

I still have the rainbows, they do the best on A-pillars i you ask me. They are still for sale, and are silk domes. Amazing sounding, with excellent detail.
