Pawn shop??

Your deck has 2.5v preouts in front and 2.0v in the rear. That's pretty much as low as you can go for preouts. It makes perfect sense why your system volume is low.

There are a few ways you can remedy this.

1. Get a PAC OEMNIS2. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...AOEM-NIS2.html
This will run you about $40. This would be acting as a supplement/bandaid for a HU that is already not fulfilling your needs.

2. You can get a line driver such as the AudioControl Overdrive. Again, this is masking the core problem - a subpar head unit. AND, it costs more than your current HU.

3. Your third option is to get a better HU. I recommend this option for a couple reasons.
a. The deck you bought is already underwhelming you, and being that it's from a pawn shop, you have no idea where it's been, or how long it will last you.
b. I have two inexpensive decks for sale. Both have 5v preouts, double the strength of your current deck.

The first one is a CD3000 - includes auxiliary input cable AND headphone jack to RCA cable so you can plug in an mp3 player. I currently use this deck, and love it. http://forums.maxima.org/audio-video...nd-stereo.html

The second is a CD2000. Lower cost, but still a great alternative over what you have. Would only cost a little bit more than what you'd pay for an OEMNIS2. I can include the Aux cables here too. http://forums.maxima.org/audio-video...condition.html

PM me if you're interested in either, I'll give you a nice price for the holidays

No problem, my pleasure to help. It's refreshing to see someone actually willing to accept advice - kudos to you for that.

I think one of my decks would suit you nicely. Let me know.
