Eclipse Question!- Maxima Dave?

Maxima Dave,
I went to one of our local Tweeter stores here in Houston, and was comparing the 5441 to the 8051. On Eclipse's web site, they list the 8051 as having a flourescent display, while they show the 5441 as not having the flourescent display. However, at the store they had the two units next to each other, and it sure _looked_ like the 5441 had the flourescent display. What's the true story? I'd rather spend less and get the 5441 if it has the same display as the 8051.

They both have a similar display but totally different decks. The CD8051 has an unbalanced 16V preamp section, copper plated chassis, and alot more. The CD8051 is $1,000.00 and the 5441 is under $300.00. big difference between the two. Is a flourescent display that important to you?

Maxima Dave,
The 5441 has been totally redone. It has the same face as the 8051 and 8061, 5V low-impedance outputs, and what looks like the same display as the 8051.
The 8051 is now $599, and the 5441 is $449

I'm sorry, I thought you were looking at a different model. Last year they had a model 5441, this year it was replaced by CD5441. To answer your question between the two is the CD5441 has a built in amp and a 5V preout. The CD8051 has a unbalanced 16V preout, copper plated chassis, and more. If you can afford it, go with the CD8051.
