Past a certain volume, my sound fades to the right.

Curious. When I turn my Eclipse CD7000 volume past 50-52, the sound shifts or fades to the right. If this happens, I usually turn the volume down, start the song over and it centers again. Course I would like to rip the ***** off every once in a while so this is a bit of a pain in the tookus. Any idea's?

bumpidy for a curiosity....now it's fading at lower volumes and on both sides. Goes all muffly. It's been pretty dag gum warm up here. Suppose it's a temp thing or a connection thing?

probably the amp inside the head unit is dying from heat and so the bias is shifting.

More than likely a bad amp, but be sure you're checking all of your speaker polarity, just to be sure you don't have one backwards...

Oop, sorry I floated away there for a bit. Life's been busy. Anyway...Thanks for the reply's gents. I'll check my polarities. Would you include the sub in the polarity testing? I've reversed it on my headunit but I've plugged and unplugged my sub a million times and could have crossed the wires. I'll check..but I wonder if reversing the polarity of an already reversed sub (which is on a separate amp) can affect the front stage.

and yep, I still don't know shyt about car audio.
