6x9 sq vs 6.5's (want to use in front doors)
Geez I hope I dont get called out for being dumb on this one. From my experiances with frends cars 6x9's seem to "hit" harder in the mid range. There is more than enugh room in the door between the metal and the grill to aconodate a custom baffle and a little widening of the opening in the door with a dremel to fit the basket for a 6x9. Is this a dumb idea? Will the sound quality suffer with a 6x9. Or should I just go to best buy and buy some new component 6.5 and the 15 dollar warantee and just let em blow and keep replaceing them. Thanks

Always remember the phrase " Sound is Round". While good midbass can easily be obtained by using 6.9's, It is usually only the very expensive ($200) models that have desent SQ. You can find a good 6.75" (the size Nissan uses) that will do just as well......Not to mention the fact that the installation is much easier....
