why does bass go down when louder i turn music up

i got bose in my car and a pioneer deck goes loud is hell but all the way untill halfway up it sounds crystal clear even bass and even highs, but when i go more then halfway my highs over power the bass its like the speakers go louder but the sub goes quieter, when i turn the radio back down the bass gets deeper.

it does this with all my subs, im using a precision power dcx500.1 amp and 2 12s. is amp to weak or what?

i have to turn the ballance to the front for bass to sound better that way front speakers get loud and bass dont get louder should be other way around.

What model Pioneer head unit do you have? It could be that you have a bad sub pre amp out on the deck. I love Pioneer head units but I would get people coming back in my shop all the time because the RCA outs on the head unit would go bad real quick. Now once you hit a certain volume do your subs cut out all together? If this is the case then you have a bad ground and your amp is going into protect.

my VALOR HU does the same thing, my assumption is most aftermarket HU's all stop cranking the bass at a certain volume so you don't blow the **** outta ur speakers, which would happen. if you want bass, get a standalone system.
