Took out system, now car won't start

Took out system, now car won't start
I recently took out my system out of my car, but was too lazy/didn't think about disconnecting the power from my battery. I've been having starting issues, could that be the issue behind the start failures? The car is seasoned, 1998 I30. Any thoughts?

make sure the positive terminal is properly clamped onto the battery post. corrosion and other crap can hinder a good electrical connection.
