Audio panel removal
Audio panel removal
Doe’s anybody know how to take off front panel on 2001Maxima?
I wont to replace the factory radio (1 DIN with the pocket).
I lifted bottom, but the panel’s top didn’t come out.
I don’t wont to force it.

you have to remove the center air vents. the first time is always the hardest. just pull straight up a bit then out.. there are screws behind that.
then remove the panel around the shifter with a small flathead. the are snap fit pieces (4 or 6) around the edges, be careful not to make scratches.
Be _very_ careful pulling out the vents. You have to pull really hard, so don't be scared, but be careful where you grab the vents. On my '97 Max I pulled too hard near the little "vanes" that direct the air out of the vents, and they all fell out! They're just snapped together so they can move freely. I had a fun hour putting them back together!

I am definitely afraid to scratch the panels,
especially when my baby 6 month old.

sorry.. i forgot to mention that the panel around the shifter has one screw to remove. in the tray, pull out the plastic insert. under that there is one screw to remove. this is probly why you couldn't remove the panel...
