Replacing Bose HU in 2000!!! Suggestions plzz

I have a 2000 Maxima SE w/ BOSE and planning to replace it with a mp3 player. no plans to change the speakers or the sub.

I am planning to buy Pioneer 7300BT from Crutchfield.com. This comes with mp3, ipod support, front face usb and inbuilt Bluetooth. Its $170 including the wiring harness, bracket and antenna adaptor. I have a few questions regarding this.

1. I looked at Clarion CZ500, but for $20 more I can get 7300BT(I like this better). Any other models that I should consider?
2. Can I use the wiring harness and bracket that come from Crutchfield?
3. Should I buy a Factory Integration Adaptor?

All suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.

Hi mate,

I would consider doubleDIN, which is what I had done (also have a SE 2K). It looks much better, in my opnion.

I currently have a Clarion DFZ675MC, but i am getting tired of it and I am thinking about upgrading it.

Regarding the adapter, I would check this more carefully, because when I did my conversion I think I bought the Scosche (but i am not sure) and the sound quality is not good when in lower volumes. If I do replace the HU I plan on upgrading the adapter as well.

I ordered Clarion CZ500 Single DIN HU from crutchfield.com. Recieved it today. The pre-amp output voltage on this unit is 4v,the harness I have is Metra 70-7551. This should work as per what I have read. will let you know how this works out in a couple of days when I get time to fix it.

Did it come with a dash kit to make it look good or what are your plans?

Order from crutchfield came with the following,

Radio unit
Metra harness
Antenna adaptor
Dash kit
clarion HD radio adaptor

I haven't done any installations before, so want to wait till friday and do the instalation over the weekend.

Edit:
I need suggestions on how to fix the HD radio box. This a small box(4"x3"x1") with clips w/ holes. Where do I bolt this? do I have to drill any holes for this?

Thanks for your help.

U can put ur HD radio box in ur glovebox or if the cables are long enough u can route it under the seat or in ur center console.
