need help removing stereo 92 GXE
I'm getting ready to donate my 92 GXE to the VA. The only thing I want to pull from it is the stereo I installed a couple years ago.

I figure I could sell it to a fellow Maxima owner. Anyway, when I installed it there were these two metal bands that helped remove the old unit that would slide into slots on either side. I don't have these anymore and was wondering how hard they are to come by?
thanks in advance,
John

thanks for looking.
no -- they weren't bent wires they were thin metal bands, about 1/2 inch tall and 4 - 6 inches long and about as thick as half a dime. You'd slide them in on either side of the unit with the face plate removed and it would pull the unit out.

They probably looked like a version of these

Every installer has multiple spare sets of these. They might be hard to come by as a consumer though unless you can sweet talk someone at a shop.
Worst case scanario, take the dash off the normal way so that you can remove the whole dash kit, at which point youll be able to use a pick tool or flathead to un-latch the radio's cage from the radio itself.
