What am I doing wrong?

So I got a Pioneer DD HU and the metra 70-7550 wiring harness to use the factory Bose amp. I also have the iPod and USB adaptor, but when I hook up to either it shows the file on the screen and that it's playing, just no audio. Now I know that it works because I hooked it up in the wifeys car no problem both worked fine. So I was thinking it could be the factory Bose amp doesn't support that or something or those 2 features of the HU need the internal amp on the HU or an aftermarket amp. Does anybody have any input on this or had a similar problem?

I have a alpine HU with a ipod functionality and it should work. I dont think the OEM bose amp has anything to do with the ipod playing any sound, or even the harness. I'm assuming your cd player plays fine?

whats the model number on the pioneer... and is it the exact same deck as your wife's?

if you get sound out of any other source than its nothing to do with the bose amp.

Read the "Bose replacement" thread.

You can't use 70-7550 on a Bose HU. You have to use 70-7551 or an LOC.

Are you sure your amp turn on wire is connected?

If it plays the music on with the FM radio on BUT you get no sound with any other functions that means you have the blue wire from the harness (Power ant turn on) in the wrong spot. The Blue/wht wire should go in its place that is the amp turn on wire. I think ever installer has been guilty of doing it at one time or another.
