Who has the BEST CUSTOM TRUNK SUB BOX?

Well, I am thinking of getting a custom trunk box built with my amps, caps, subs (of course) and cd changer. Can you please post pics of ur custom installs so i can get some idea ONLY if you have one.

Thanks

i think when i build mine later this spring( its too damn cold now) i will follow sweetsounds style but keeping the functionality of the ski hole... more open at rear of angle that holds speaker... but it may requre 2 boxes.

Also i had a question, how hard is the vertical seat back of the back seat to remove i know the seat has to be removed before rear deck, so i figured id get some advice.

Be original! don't just simply copy anyone else's install.. I spent months trying to do something original in mine, then the second I posted pics of the completed install, I got dozens of emails asking for designs and drawings of how to do everything.
well anyway, here's a few pics for some ideas. my next system will be completely different, and much MUCH better.

but there is only so many things you can do with a trunk and custom box setup, to get good quality and make it look nice... I bet almost everything has been done before... even if you come up with it yourself, it may still have been done before People are mounting stuff everywhere now, like the other link someone posted with the sub in the dashboard..

Click my hompage for pics

I'm the one that posted the pic of the w7 in the dash and that really is not orginal anymore. Most orginal thing ive seen is a guy made hands to hold his amp rack and move it elcectronicly and that was at this years finals(guy came from mexico). There is alot of nice stuff out there but hard to come up with something truly new.

yup.. completely original is hard. but using other ideas and making your own out of the things you like form all is something not too bad.

Mine will still be pretty original. not Ed Rivera (The Fishman) original or anything, but it'll be something you guys have never seen before. I'm going for function anyway.

i.e. easily removable (under 5 min for entire trunk) for track days, yet still looks great and will compete with the best of 'em at IASCA comp.

The amp rack is going to be extremely light- made of only aluminum.
Subs won't use an enclosure (Focal free-air jobs), but what paneling I'll need will be a composite honeycomb structure with either carbon fiber or Kevlar.. The rest will be aluminum tubing for bracing.

As far as weight goes, I'll have 50lb in subs, and about 75lb in amplifiers. about 20lb in racks/bracing/mounting hardware.

that'll be a far cry less than me 300+lb system iI showed you pics to earlier!

How crazy do you want to get? Here are a few pics of my JBL GTI install that isn't finished yet. When I get it all done I'll post up a few pics.
Ok, I can't attach pics to this post because I don't have any pics of the install on a site. I'll email them to you if you'd like. Basicly I cut out the rear deck and made a new custom one where the woofers sit. The box has a plex front to show off the woofer's basket in the trunk along with my four amps that I had powder coated.

Yes, I had them made by Leatherseats.com. They are great, smooth, soft and look killer. Everyone loves them. Check out their site www.leatherseats.com. I can send you more pics of the seats if you'd like to see them.
