Bypassing Amp?

I have an 89 non-Bose. What am I supposed to do with the wires after i remove them from the amp? Do I hook up the wires to the speaker wires and not use the harness? Or do I use the harness and not use the wires I just pulled from the amp. I've got a new Cd player and I replaced the speakers. Please help because this is driving me nuts. I found the wiring info from Craig Braces page, but I dont know what to do it. Are there any other sites?

Inside the dash, just connect the wires according to the directions on the harness you bought. Be sure to add an extra ground though- most of those harnesses have a cround wire on them, but they don't connect to anything on the factory harness. Can/will cause problems later.

for the amp on the rear speakers, use this link for directions on bypassing it.:

add an extra ground? I still dont understand the part about bypassing it. Whenever I take the wires off the amp, where do I connect them to. Do I piggy back them to the harness, and hook it up to the speaker wire? I know nothing about this stuff. I'm getting a friend to help me with this stuff but he's in Canada right now, lol.
