Pathfinder 6CD Bose in I30/Maxima
Good day all,
Well my 1996 I30's OEM Bose CD Player stopped playing CDs and shows me a CD ERR message. I decided to get the Pathfinder 6 CD player instead of the single CD. I know a lot of people will recommend to get an aftermarket player but I like the OEM look not to mention I sometimes forget to remove the faceplate off the aftermarket player. It happened before and my aftermarket player was stolen.

As you can see from the above links, you can get the 2005-2007 Pathfinder CD Player made by Panasonic if I remember correctly. But you need to drill holes in the mounting bracket and splice only 2 wires to make it work.
This is a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder 6 CD player. Part # PN-2439N. Made by Clarion. It is a perfectly plug and play device. It fits nicely with no gaps and the mounting brackets is a perfect fit. You do not need to splice any wires in the factory harness. This CD player should work on 1995-1999 Maximas with Bose. In regards to the quality, I think it is a little better than the old single CD Bose but the sound is definitely louder with this player.
I hope this thread helps members who are looking for an OEM replacement for Bose.
And here are some pics:
This is the 1st player I bought off eBay from a 2003 Pathfinder. It looks a little bit different than the one I installed. The reason I went for the 2002 is because the 2003 was broken when I received it. The eBay seller was nice enough to send me another unit (the 2002) for free.
This also is a plug and play device. Part # PN-2543N and is also made by Clarion.
This is the OEM CD that I replaced. Clarion part # PN-2083D.

interesting, I installed a 2005 Pathfinder radio in my i30. The holes were not an issue and was well worth if for what I wanted. I love having a **** to browse between stations. I am currently in the process of installing a killer sound system and will stick to the pathfinder's radio as I really like it. Bass control shouldn't be an issue as the amp has an remote bass control ****.
