5th Gen non-bose headunit problem

My Stock 5th gen headunit display isn't lighting up. sometimes it wouldnt work for 2 month and then out the blue it will work for a week and die again. what could be the problem?

Assuming you already checked fuses, this is fairly common. You can try to get them to come back on by giving the HU a firm smack. You can also go inside the HU and replace the lighting, deal with it, or replace the head unit.

yea i kinda have been dealing with it but still was worth seeing if there was a way i could fix it

You'd have to open up the fascia of the HU to see what's going on there.
