02 maxima se audio project..need experienced guidence
I just got a se and I love it, but the bose sucks. replaced hu with a pioneer, now for the speakers. I want a really good audio system, thinking about image dynamic all around with L7 sub. or i saw on a website the custom make a box that fits all the way in the back of trunk where the seat goes down... maybe 2 10s . i already got 4 ch 75 rms and 2 channel 275 rms 550 bridged amps
Ive googled it and i got a bunch of diff answers on the door sizes.
are the fronts 6.5 and rear 5 .25 or are they both 6.5?
do i need some kind of kit to install new speakers where the bose used to be?
should i put 6 .75 on the rear deck instead of the door?
for the tweeters should i keep them on the pillars or new location?

if your upgrading the entire system then your going to want to replace the stock speaker wires running to the doors. for my maxima i have Boston Acoustic components in the front and Boston Acoustics in the rear doors. I have a 10" Rockford Fosgate P2 with a 550 watt amp in the trunk...I dont have any annoying rattly bass. It has a nice clean sound. Last time i put it into competition i believe i hit somewhere in the range of 150-155dbs

No way you came close to that with a single 10 P2.

it's not that hard to run new wiring. just dedicate a weekend to it, take your time, and do it right.
and luvlexus101, i HIGHLY doubt you're hitting in the 50's with your setup.

This^ idk about even hitting 40s. Im barely getting a 40.7 at the headrest
As for running new wires i ran about 25ish feet on my third gen on all four corners, it may be a bit more for you since its a fifth gen. As long as you are patient and careful you cam run all new wires nicely tucked away. I used 12g *overkill*, was a p.i.t.a. To stuff in the boots but i got it done, 14-16 guage should be good enough for the power and for tight areas

I generally reserve 50 feet for a 5th gen. This is just enough to run wire directly into each door, to each speaker, to anywhere in the trunk without any breaks or splices anywhere between the amp and the speaker (unless a crossover is in the mix)

But yes, please take your time and do it right. If you're hesitant/uncertain it's worth to pay someone - like me

Fishing the wire is easier if you goto lowes/homedepot and get you a IDEAL thumbwinder 1/8" fishtape its flexable enuff and stays bent the way you need it.

i had extra spool of 14 gauge so i used that from my amp to the crossovers under my front seats. then i ran a length of 16 gauge to my doors, kick panels, and up to my pillars. hardest part for me was to run the wires to my front seats.

wow how'd you pull that off? Do you have write up or something?

there is a plugged hole for the front doors right next to the door harness connector its big enuff to stuff monstercable XP-CI100 cable thru there.

Components in the front, coaxials in the rear.
Your system is low because your Pioneer HU is not installed properly. Read the "BOSE Radio Replacement" thread to find out why.
