Front Speakers on Bose are Crackling
The front speakers are almost shot on my Bose System, I recently replaced the rear 6x9s with Kenwoods, but now the front ones are crackling horribly. My question is how can I replace just the speakers without buying a new headunit or amps.
The crackling sound suggests that its your amps that are dying, not your speakers. Try here for replacement amps;

The best way to do it is to get an interface that converts BOSE sound back to basic linear sound, so to speak. Your Bose head unit would connect to the interface, then the interface would connect to the new speakers, like Polk, Boston Acoustics, whatever.
If I were you, I would either replace the whole system, or keep the Bose.
Bose is interesting, you either love it, or hate it. I love mine
I recently replaced my BOSE HU with a Clarion HU so I can play mp3s. I needed an interface. The best one I found was the PD-4 from www.linkmeup.com. That one costs like $150, but you can find others cheaper. The main reason the PD-4 is expensive is because the PD-4 takes your line out RCAs and feeds them to BOSE system. The cheaper $50 units take your speaker outputs and feed them to Bose, The line out RCA method is much cleaner, less distortion.
