Place to mount amp, 5.5 gen
Place to mount amp, 5.5 gen
So as the title states i'm looking for a good place to mount my amp (Alpine MRD-M301 if i remember exactly). Right now i've got it mounted to the back of my box, but i'm replacing the box (going from sealed to ported) and I'd like to mount it somewhere that makes it easier to take the sub in and out of the car. I've heard of mounting it on the back of the seat or on the rear deck, but when i look at the back of the seat i just can't see it being supportive without ruining the seat, that said i haven't done this before, and when it comes to the rear deck i'm guessing i'd have to make an mdf board to mount on the deck then the amp? I'm not really sure. If anyone has ideas or pictures of what they did i would really appreciate it.
Thanks for the help!

You can mount it on the back seat, just look for the metal part to put a screw in, this will make a solid screw location. Also, if you want you can attach a board to the metal and the amps to the board, it's all up to you. With the rear deck, If you have the bose amp, you can reuse those brackets and fab something up, or just screw it on with self-taping screws. a buddy of mine had put his amp on there with no issues.
Back of the rear seat would be best for you.
I have 2 amps mounted in my car.
JL 450/4
JL 1000/1
One is mounted to the back of the seat, and the other is mounted to a custom wall in the trunk.
