I have a 97 SE and my CD player in the head unit gives me a error message when I put a CD in it. I'm not using CD-R and it happens with all the CD's I have tried. The dealer said it will cost $50.00 to remove it and ship it off, and 150.00 to have it fixed and another $50.00 to install it. Is there something simple that I can do myself or is this my best option. Any help would be great. Thanks

The stock units have a history of crapping out, so once it goes, you're better off just replacing it. That $250 will go a decent way to a new head unit, but since it's a Bose, you'll also have to spring for an adapter unless you want to replace the speakers at the same time.

I get that problem every once in a while...doesn't matter what

CD it is....it just happens. However, I just push the tape button and then push the CD button again (immediately) and it goes away...until a later time (about 3 or 4 weeks later).
