advice on phoenix gold combo...

I currently have a sony xplod ca650x head unit, and sony xplod 5 1/4's up front and 6x9s in the back. I'm now getting ready to add some bass to the setup. I'm looking to spend about $250-300, and I came accross this (seemingly) great deal at SoundDomain.com for a phoenix gold enclosed 12" sub and a 200 watt phoenix amp for only $250. I think this is a pretty good deal, but what do you guys think? If this isn't good, what do you suggest? I'm not looking for anything too serious, I just want some fairly loud, tight bass.

Here's the link:

if you have 300 dollars - get a 200 dollar amp, preferably rockford, infinity or even JBL; and two pioneer 12 inch subs......circuit city usually has a deal like buy one get one free ( one will cost 100- and u get the other free) - check the circulars - if u need help goto www.crutchfield.com - they got sum great FAQ's

Phoenic Gold makes very nice amplifiers! Now the XS series of amps is their low end, but there is no reason for me to believe that is isn't a quality piece of hardware. I would say go for it. Sounds like one hell of a deal!

I have a Phoenix Gold QX4150 amp and I would not recommend it. It overheats all the time, ALL the time. I have a fan blowing right on it, and that helps a little.

Go for their XS series, they are much more robust...
