Bose System Draning battery

Mechanic tracked battery drain problem to radio, since we disconnected it battery fine. Research shows that it is most probably a diode gone bad.
95 Nissan Maxima - Bose radio with CD player.
Question - can this be fixed?

What would be best replacement that would fit in with minimal jury rigging. I am tone deaf so dont need high quality unit , just clear sound.

Thank you for your opinions.

There are a few options. The first is you can get a new bose amp and replace yours or get your repairs.

You can also remove the bose amp and install in it's place something like the JBL MS8. This will allow you to keep your factory head unit and all controls and even improve sound quality.

You can also remove the bose amp and head unit, and install aftermarket. You would have to install new speakers and wire them to your new head unit.

My recommendation would be going with the MS8 personally. There are other options as well but these will get you started.
