?? 7th gen alternator??

Hey I'm new here but I wanted to upgrade my system even more and was womdering if there is a upgrade to our alternator for the 7th gen. I currently am running two amp but want to end up running 4 amps

it isn't the number of amps it is the current you will be drawing.

how much will all 4 amps draw at max?

you likely will be fine with a big 3 upgrade and throwing a 2nd batt in the trunk.

Don't buy optimas they are pieces of **** and so is their company.


edit: Why 4 amps and what components are you planning on using out of curiosity?

I have jl comps in the front doors tweeters in dash where the old ones where jl 6.5in rear deck and 6.9 in the rear doors. Running a 600/4 jl hd amp with a jl 10''w7 with a 750/1 hd amp. But I want to go with a 12 w7 and 2 8'' w7 with 2 more 500/1 hd amps

you should be fine on the stock alt if you do the upgrades.

I would do the Big 3 at a minimum. If your lights still dim and you have voltage drop install a second batt in the trunk. No Optimas!!! No Caps!

they are a band aid and rather useless. A second battery is MUCH more useful

A capacitor will empty in under a second. Then your alternator is trying to recharge the cap, plus run everything else.
They are useful in bass burp competitions, but terrible for everything else.
