02 Nissan Maxima SE Audio replacment help and Subwoofer questionplease

Hello, I'm in a hot mess right now, my BOSE system is pretty much failing on me. I decided to go ahead an replace everything from the head unit to the sub woofer. I created a list that is an attachment (didn't want to plague the post with links) for anybody to review and suggest anything else. Also, I had a question about the
Alpine SWR-843D Type-R 8" with Dual 4-Ohm voice coils Alpine SWR-843D Type-R 8" with Dual 4-Ohm voice coils
on my list. Can that subwoofer fit into my stock enclosure where the BOSE subwoofer is currently housed? I've got different answers from different people and i wanted Maxiam.orgs opinion. I hate to lose trunk space putting in a box and I rather use the stock enclosure. I not entering no sound contest or anything, I just want to upgrade, that is all.

Any opinions come through, I really appreciate it. I so ready to buy these parts so I can replace and install ASAP.

How's it working?

I wish I had answers for you. Did you give it a shot? I'm considering similar upgrades for my 2001 SE.

Yes I gave it a shot

Yeah, my friend and I went ahead on this audio project. Replacing the speakers wasn't hard but the headunit is giving us the most trouble. We are having issues at the moment trying to get the audio controls on the steering wheel to work with the HU. With the replacement of BOSE speakers we had to do some slight modifications with some new mounts for them. We have yet to install the AMP and Sub woofer. Took us a total of 6 hours just for replacing the door speakers and head-unit (I know, what a shame). Ill keep you posted once we complete the overall project.

Do you really seriously need a navigation system why don't you just get a good decent double din with out navigation. I'm happy with my Pioneer AVH P2300DVD if I ever want to get the navigation all I just need to get is adapter and plug right in back of the headunit!

Amazon.com: Pioneer AVH-P2300DVD 5.8" In-Dash Double-DIN DVD AV Receiver with iPod/iPhone Control: Electronics Amazon.com: Pioneer AVH-P2300DVD 5.8" In-Dash Double-DIN DVD AV Receiver with iPod/iPhone Control: Electronics
Nothing beats Pioneer!

I seriously recommend don't get parking brake bypass it not worth it and it best for your safety man.

Don't get kicker amps because for one the subs you're buying will not handle that kind of power and two it a rip off price there is a good decent amps for budget such as Hifonic, Planet Audio, Alpine, and Kenwood. Kenwood and Alpine has true wattage RMS.

I can see you're getting 8'' subs are you looking for a nice smooth clean bass not loud just for your ride to enjoy the music?

Try not to order everything off amazon you can get alot great deals for 30% cheaper price off ebay, Sonic electronic or other sites... research is your friend.

Hmmmm

Hey Garrettz459, yeah the 8 inch sub is to replace the stock 8 inch sub in the max since it is pretty much dead. Im just going to enjoy the music, not blast it all over the place. We didn't install the AMP and Subwoolfer yet. If what you say is true, then i can probably return the amp back. As for the bypass, dont worry, i wont be watching DVD while im driving.

The reason i went with a NAVI, i thought it was too dangerous holding a cell phone and the GPS's that stick on the class always keep falling and cracked my vents in the process which i had to replace. I figured it would be the best solution to my problems.

Your selections are fine, having more power is fine. It's all tunable.

Getting steering wheel controls to work with aftermarket stereo

if you want the ability to control your aftermarket stereo with your steering wheel controls. Major 1st step is that your receiver on the back of it has to have the mini-plug labeled W/R (wireless remote), then you need to go to the following website www.pac-audio.com and buy the stereo to steering wheel integration module. From there on it's like programming a all-in-one remote for your sat/dvd.

So you just want a nice clean small bass not all over the place the subs you picked is perfect fine but amp hmm I would suggest you get 4 channel amp if you want to run for speakers too http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-KAC-8405.html

If you just want mono D amp then this one would be good for you
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...e-MRX-M55.html

I didn't look at the prices but those 2 are good brands for what you're looking for.

Just do some research to find a cheaper price... mostly likely you'd find cheaper on ebay.

I hope this helps man and good luck!

Also don't forget you need amp wiring kit as for you system go for 8 or 10 gauge kit.
