LOOKING FOR ANOTHER Zapco Z600
- I would be interested in trading my Zapco C2K6.0 for a clean ZapcoZ600+$$ (prolly like $300) since I already have several Z series amps, and need another Z600 to complete my Sound _Q_ system.
Private Msg me if interested.
As far as a nice amp for those woofers, (since I have a pair, and am familiar with their sound, efficiency, and power handling) I'd recommend the Kicker ZR600 which are almost always on ebay for around $250-$300.
The newer all black '01-'02 series are more bulletproof, but only do about 700-725watts rms/4 ohms typically, whereas the older 'polished fins' series did more like 800-850 watts rms/4 ohms.
They are excellent sounding, have really great control, a little thirsty for current, but they have a great regulated power supply which will hold at least the rated 600rms power all the way down to right about 10 volts from 2 to 6 ohms.
One of those ZR600s actually set a world record on a pair of L7 12s in a Street vehicle at a So.Cal db drag race 3x event in August of 2000 - 151.1dB.
I like the ZR1000 much better, but they are a bit more $$, and it would fry a pair of W3s in about 20 minutes.
Even the ZR600 could toast a pair of W3s if you aren't just a little careful, those older ZR series amps are the real thing! - And they even sound incredible on components- (mids & highs).
Good luck in your search.
Private Msg me if interested.
