question about rear speaker install

I just replaced the rear speakers on my 93 SE w/ Bose. Is it okay to use the rear amps that comes with the factory bose system?

NO! You will kill either the amp or blow the speakers. They run on a really funky ohmage. You need to bypass the amp entirely and should replace your head unit if you plan on running after-market speakers at all. Check e-bay for a decent deal. Also, most local car audio shops are willing to negotiate price to a point. I would replace all or nothing. But you definatly need to bypass the Bose amps.

I already have an aftermarket Kenwood head unit installed from 3 years ago. My rear speakers were beginning to sound distorted so, I replaced them. will I have to install new compatible amps for the speakers or can I do without them?

You can run the speakers off of the head unit just fine. Just be sure to bypass the Bose amps and you'll be good to go You can also IM me at JDawgX38 on AIM if you need help with anything. I'm on all day at work. Hope this helps you
