Today's the day!

I finally get my install completed of my car audio system....Boston Pro 6.5s in front door and A pillar, Boston 6.5 coax. in rear doors; Boston Pro 8.5 sub in vinyl exterior .75 cu. ft. enclosure mounted into the stock Bose sub location of rear tray. 2 Orion (4 X 50; 1 X 375 mono) amps flush mounted along with 1 Farad cap into rear left corner of trunk....100 amp circuit breaker, 4 gauge to cap, 6 to amps all run off an Eclipse 5 volt, 100 ohm O.I. deck. Should be done tonight...6PM. Oh the joys of spending 3 grand.....damn I could have gotten those forged 18s and tires.... ...Oh well, the tires hopefully wouldn't sound quite as good as this system BETTER!

I don't have access currently to a dB meter to measure SPL but let me say that it definitely sounds good. The 8" sub is a great match for accurately reproducing tight bass while not moving the bass from the front stage. Those Boston Pro 6.5s are great up front. I will need to do some level setting though to match up the sub amp a bit better with the front soundstage. Time to dig out the old Autosound 2000 test setup disc and have some fun! I'll try to get some pics today of the amp setup and sub enclosure.

Sounds like a nice set-up, if you dont mind me asking how much was the sub itself.. Also I wouldnt worry about your quarter-mile time, I would doubt that the equip. is that heavy..

I think the sub was in the $230 range for the 8" version.

Dave, our local show, Autosound Inc. is doing the install. A couple of years ago they had a vehicle in CA&E that was owned by an IASCA competitor but I don't have the issue to tell you what and whose vehicle it was. They do about the best job in this area and the cost seems to support that. This is my 2nd system they've installed and I've been very pleased with their work in both cases. Here are a couple of pics off of my unfinished cardomain.com page. This is my first time attaching image links here so I hope it works!
