Its been 3 years since I removed a system out of my 08. I had a few, last setup being JL 12w7/1000.1. I been missing a little bass in my daily but have gotten use to the space I have. I just picked up a 10" Alpine Type X and a Alpine mrp1000. Thinking of fiberglassing a enclosure as a side mount over one of the rear wheel pockets. I'm trying to figure if I should leave it sealed or run a 3" aero port to spec? I only have had 12's so this is my first 10". Anybody use these Type x's? Anybody w/ fiberglass side mounts have opinions on how the sealed sounds?

I've had a couple 12" Type-X subs at different times. It's s very nice sounding sub. Ran mine sealed. I had the older ones that weren't very efficient, used it with an Arc Audio 1500-XXK. I wouldn't hesitate to run one again. If you only want to round out the system, sealed would be a good way to go. If you don't mind a slightly bigger enclosure & want a little more output, then the ported option may be the way to go.
