I got the Aiwa CDC-mp32 and i live the way it looks, especially @ night. But as for how it sounds i dont know. The bose speakers dont work unless you buy an adapter/line convertor.

Im going to get new speakers instead.

Hey OgreDave. I'm thinking about getting that unit myself. Let me know how it sounds after you get everything installed.

Oh, well I went to crutchfield.com and the 4400 isn't in stock yet. I wanted to get the 6400, but I don't want to wait that long. I want a CD player that is XM ready, for when I want to upgrade to it I don't need a whole bunch of stuff.

the 4400 is in stock at best buy...and it's cheaper than crutchfield...it's xm ready also...besides....just buy the 4400...and get the PSP with it...and then when something happens to the 4400 just go and ask for the 6400...lol

Rio

get a Rio. I paid $2000 for mine and now they're like a couple hundred bux. They are awesome and blow away any of those cd-r units.

I love mine, who wants to burn CD's?

Its been installed, I just dont have front speakers. It kicks ***, just a lil slow compared to the alpine 7878. But the alpine is fugly compared to the Z828.

Btw, Anthony, I dont mind burning cds, beats yankin the unit in and out and uploading to it. I have burners at home and work, whereas im not sure id install the rio software at work. (or base?) Besides, that rio software isnt the greatest (i have a rio 300)

I must admit the price drops kick ***, but you neglect to mention that most of them are sold out now..

jvc sh-99...i would pick this over the rio...i would much rather burn a cd and put it in and play it...rather then taking the whold damn deck out just to download mp3 from computer to deck...

Only have to do it once or twice, compared to buring new cds all the time.

Not really. Let's say a new song comes out that I wanna add. If I had the rio i'd have to yank the unit out and download it and reinstall. With my jvc head unit i just take my cd-r - and rewrite the info with the new song added. cha ching. =)

You guys act as if taking out the unit was like moving a refridgerator. Its pretty small and would probably transfer faster than you would burn. Well as they say, to each his own, of crap like that.

compared to a CD it is like carrying a fridge.

i dont need to take CRAP outta the car. i walk into the office, burn a cd. -or- i walk into the apt, burn a cd. who needs to carry anything in?

imagine if you were a clutz (my gf) .. and you accidentally dropped something. prefer the unit, or the media? (guess why i dont have a motorized faceplate)

have a punch 30 amp for the basstube

Yeah, I found out that the basstube isn't selfamped, my siste had a 30watt punch for it. How would I go about hooking up the system, I have a 2002 Maxima Se with the standard radio system not the bose. The tube has two connections on it, one black one red

Please, any info would be much appreciated

Thanx

Well you can always hook up a wireless access point to the RioCar/empeg and connect/upload to it wirelessly from your home computer when the car is parked nearby, but you'll need to be a bit technically adept at do something like that.

Also, I don't wanna fiddle among 30+ CD-Rs to find a song, and I like being able to do an alphanumeric search for a song on the unit as well..

Lastly, I have an in-dash MP3 player with my RioCar together, so I have the best of both worlds I guess, but neither compared to my Ricochet wireless Net access in my car when I streamed my 80GB+ collection of WMA files on my home server over the Net into my notebook PC(in my car) and into my AUX-in of my head unit.. THAT was cool. Ok, it really didn't work that well as it took to damn long to buffer each song but it was a cool experiment that worked..

-John M

P.S. - If you ONLY want basic mp3 access in your car then the RioCar may not be for you, but if you are a techie and liek all sorts of cool crap and more including playing your mp3s at home then there is no other choice..

Im a techie, but I don't need that much crap in my car. I already get jacked on crap like air stems, lets not even get into a Rio or Car PC.

As for wireless.. my garage is light years from my apartment.. don't even have spickets to wash my car currently. My apt sucks. Tryin to get the hell out.
